Immerse yourself in the serene beauty of the Granada mountains with our Energizing & Restorative 7-Day Yoga Retreat in Orgiva. Join me for a journey of relaxation and rejuvenation in 2024. I will be hosting two retreats.

DATES 2024:

  • 23 - 29 May 2024

  • 15 - 21 September 2024

Arrival and Departure Information:

  • Arrival: Check-in begins around 14:00h on the first day.

  • Departure: Check-out is around 12:00h on the last day.

Transportation:

  • We offer a group transfer from Malaga airport, departing around 11:30h on the arrival day and from Orgiva at 12:00h on the departure day. Timings are coordinated with the majority of the group's flight schedules. The transfer fee is 50 EUR per ride.

  • The transfer from Malaga airport to the accommodation in Orgiva takes around 90 min. Please keep this in mind when booking your flights.

  • Private transfers are available upon request, though at a higher cost.

  • Alternatively, you're welcome to rent a car for more flexibility.

Your investment:

  • This retreat offers a range of room options, with prices varying based on single or shared occupancy (deluxe or standard room)

  • Shared Rooms: Prices range from 1095 EUR to 1195 EUR per person

  • Single Rooms: Prices range from 1250 EUR to 1350 EUR per person

Important note: a minimum of 6 participants is required for the retreat to go ahead.

Accommodation & room types:

  • During your stay, you'll be accommodated in a charming Spanish Casa Rural (country house), offering a mix of shared and single rooms.

  • Some rooms feature ensuite bathrooms and private terraces, while others share facilities. Accordingly, we have deluxe and standard-type rooms available.

This serene retreat is nestled in the Alpujarras region, minutes from the vibrant town of Orgiva in the Granada mountains. Orgiva, known for its natural beauty and spiritual allure, is a melting pot of cultures, attracting spiritual seekers and wellness enthusiasts. The unique energy of the town is truly palpable.
Surrounded by the breathtaking Sierra Nevada mountains, the retreat location provides an idyllic setting to unwind and relax. The serene landscapes, characterized by lush valleys and clear skies, offer a perfect backdrop for this Restorative & Energizing Retreat.

The area's main attractions include dramatic hill and mountain scenery, unspoiled whitewashed villages and the beautiful historic city of Granada with its rich cultural heritage, which is just a 45-minute drive away.

The accommodation, a cozy Spanish country house, features a lovely pool and sun terrace with breathtaking mountain views. This setting allows you to enjoy the beautiful countryside, renowned for its extraordinary beauty and mild climate. Here, you can relax in a peaceful atmosphere.
We will spend as much time as possible outside, weather permitting, to enjoy the stunning views and soak up the Spanish sunlight during meals and yoga practices.

There is a yoga shala, just next to the house, which is a peaceful sanctuary. When necessary we can practice inside.
And as part of this intimate retreat, you'll find each room in the country house contributes to an experience of comfort and relaxation.

Join me for a rejuvenating week in the peaceful Granada mountains, where relaxation and renewal await you. My goal is to help you find balance in your body, mind and heart. A balance you can take back and integrate into your daily (busy) life.

A journey of self-connection:
I will guide you on a journey to deeply connect with yourself. My program includes a variety of yoga practices to open your body and calm your mind to find your inner peace.
You'll experience both Yin and Yang yoga sessions:

  • Yin Yoga: A gentle, meditative practice focusing on deep relaxation and letting go, enhancing the health and flexibility of your connective tissues.

  • Yang Yoga: Active and dynamic, similar to a Vinyasa flow or Slow flow class, it stretches and strengthens your muscles, stimulating energy flow within your body.

The Perfect Balance of Yin & Yang:
Our daily yoga practices, sometimes once, sometimes twice a day, are designed to provide a balanced experience. We will practice Yang yoga in the morning, Yin yoga in the afternoon and also do combined Yin Yang sessions. In the combined Yin-Yang sessions, you'll find that the mindfulness of Yin enhances the vitality of your Yang practice, bringing a harmonious balance to your energy.

  • Enjoy a horse riding excursion: for those interested in horseback riding, there is a local riding center offering various treks ranging from 1 to 4 hours. This can be a delightful way to explore the surrounding landscape.

Yoga for all levels:
My retreat welcomes yoga practitioners of all levels. We can modify poses to meet your individual needs, ensuring a comfortable and rewarding experience for everyone. While we practice yoga almost daily, sometimes twice a day, our sessions are designed to be accessible and enjoyable.

  • Morning Yoga sessions: These are generally more dynamic, offering a chance to challenge and energize the body in a supportive environment. We flow through various poses, stretching and strengthening the whole body. Modifications are always available to suit your comfort level and your body’s needs.

  • Afternoon Yin Yoga: Our afternoon sessions focus on Yin yoga, a more passive and meditative practice. We hold postures longer, encouraging stillness in both body and mind. This practice is beneficial for strengthening connective tissues, joints, and bones, as well as working on the body’s energy channels.

Hike / Excursion:
In addition to yoga, we offer hikes and/or excursions to picturesque white-washed villages and/or silent walks in the mountains. These activities vary in intensity, but always include some uphill walking. The level of challenge depends on your personal experience and fitness level.

Remember, this is your retreat, so feel free to participate as much or as little as you like.
Relaxing by the pool with a book and enjoying the views is always a wonderful option.

The menus feature wonderful vegetarian and vegan options, predominantly gluten-free and sugar-free, crafted with balance and wellness in mind.

Every meal is a celebration of health and flavor, with most fruits and vegetables sourced from local farmers. This ensures not only freshness but also supports sustainable practices. The seasonal menus are designed to delight your taste buds with a variety of flavors, embracing all the colors of the rainbow.

Who joins our retreats?

I often get asked about the kinds of people who attend my retreats. Our guests include both men and women from various walks of life, with different ages and backgrounds. While many come alone, seeking a personal journey, we also get couples, family and friends.

What's beautiful about my retreats is the natural bond that forms among participants. From the very start, there's a sense of community and connection. It's a place where friendships are often made. However, we equally respect your need for solitude and personal space. You're free to enjoy the tranquillity of our terrace and pool and all activities are entirely optional. Your comfort, relaxation and enjoyment are our top priorities.

I value the intimacy of small groups, allowing for personalized attention and a more profound experience. Each retreat accommodates a maximum of 8 people, ensuring a cozy and inclusive atmosphere.

  • Use of all yoga materials; mats, pillows, blocks, belts, eye pillows and blankets

 Optional extras for your retreat:

  • Treat yourself to a wonderful massage with one of our special massage therapists

  • Participate in a cooking workshop with our chef

  • For an adventurous twist, book a horse riding excursion in the beautiful surrounding area.

Not included in the price:

  • Flights: Travelers are responsible for their flights to and from Malaga.

  • Transfers: We offer a group transfer from Malaga airport to Orgiva and back.
    The departure from Malaga airport is around 11:00/11:30h, coordinated with the majority of flight arrivals. This transfer costs 50 euros per ride. If you require a private transfer, we can arrange it, but please note that the costs will be higher. Alternatively, you're welcome to rent a car.
    The return group transfer from Orgiva departs around 12:00h on the last day, aligned with the majority of flight departure times.

  • Insurance: Attendees should arrange their own travel and/or cancellation insurance.

  • Personal Expenses: Any personal expenses, such as food and drinks during your free time or at the beach, are not covered. We will have one afternoon off where you have the freedom to explore and choose your activities.

Tips:

  • Many participants book a day and night in Malaga before or after the retreat. This is highly recommended. It is a very nice and relaxed city by the sea.

  • You can book a flight at a good price with Transavia, Vueling, EasyJet or Ryanair. It can often be cheaper to book two single tickets (with two different airlines).

Booking policy & Minimum participation

To reserve your place at the retreat, please complete the booking form (button below). Shortly after submitting your form, you will receive a confirmation email along with an invoice. To secure your spot, please pay the indicated down payment. Your participation in the retreat is confirmed upon receipt of this down payment.

Please note that the retreat requires a minimum of 6 participants to proceed.
While planning your trip, including booking flights and other travel arrangements, I recommend waiting until the retreat is officially confirmed with the minimum number of participants. This precaution is advised because in the event the retreat is cancelled due to not reaching the required number of guests, I am unable to take responsibility for any flight or travel costs incurred.

In the case that the retreat must be cancelled due to not meeting the minimum participant requirement, rest assured that all amounts paid towards the retreat fee, including the down payment, will be fully refunded to you.
